stuck on amazon's CC verification process

Hello,

I have been stuck on amazon's CC verification process. Amazon has been unhelpful to say the least. I discovered that my capital one venture card uses address verification or AVS, and amazon only does account verification. If this happens, amazon will indefinitely continue to try to verify the card when it's impossible. So, I have switched to a different card in the hopes that they will have the proper verification process. I have put in my SPG card and have gotten the $1 verification charge from amazon. But when I tried to call american express, they could not tell me what type of verification process they use. So, I was wondering if anybody who knows specifically about the different types of credit card verification processes, can tell me what I may need to do to submit a CC that will be compatible with Amazon's account verification process. Many other people on forums have been having this same issues with little success. The site says it will typically take up to an hour, but some people have waited months to be verified. After bringing all this to amazon's attention, they said they need to continue to attempt to verify, and I really can't afford to wait for something that will never happen. Would really appreciate some help. Thank you so much.

I don't have an Amazon seller's account, but I used my Capital One card for years on Amazon with no issues at all (I haven't used it in a while since I have the Amazon Visa).

Actually, Amazon is notable for me in that in 20+ years they've never had any issues taking my money... not even once, regardless of the card I use - even MC/V gift cards have worked with no issues.

This must be something new. I've used 5 or 6 different credit cards with Amazon over the last few years, and I've never gone through any kind of a verification process. They've all worked right away.

I don't have a seller's account either but I'm gonna take a gander at this. Have you enabled Two-Step Verification?

These are the acceptable cards:

American Express
Diners Club
Discover
JCB
MasterCard
Visa

Since you're seeing the verification charge, give it 24 hours. This is a Holiday weekend so perhaps give it til late on Monday.
