Chase Amazon Prime Visa CLI Before Card Arrives?

I applied for the Prime Visa on 11/18, got the 30 day message and got an email saying I was approved on 11/26 with an initial CL of $5,000. It was added into my Chase account immediately with the $5,000 limit showing. I just logged into my Chase account today to make a payment to my Freedom card and clicked on the Amazon Prime account just to see if everything was the same and noticed it now says $12,400 as my limit on the card. Is that usual for Chase to give you an increase before the card is activated? Im still waiting on it to come in the mail. Im stoked if thats my new limit!

Yep, a lot of people have experienced this with the Amazon Visa.

I woudn't call it usual behavior by Chase. But it's not isolated enough to call it unusual either.

Most chase amazon approval that will be shown is 5k for security reasons I suspect but online it will show up more if you qualified for more. Nothing new here. Amex version of the card does the same at $2500, but alot of people get 25k, etc.

Like CreditCuriosity said, the email/initial approval message appears to display a max starting limit of $5000, when the real limit is higher.

It may be a temporary limit for immediate use on Amazon, and then the full limit kicks in a couple days later when the card is issued.

Congrats, same thing happened here. I was approved for 5k, when I logged onto the site, I had 6.3k. I do now wish it was 12k though. Just a tad bit jealous
