Chase Freedom announced three rewards categories to start 2019 off fast: gas stations, drugstores and tolls. Cardmembers can earn 5% cash back on up to $1,500 in combined purchases in the categories from January 1 through March 31.

On the bright side they did not conflict with Discover Groceries which means that will be a different quarter on Freedom.

I wonder if they're as lenient as Discover gas quarters that includes purchases inside the store not just at the pump, like Costco Visa.

I've used the CF before during gas quarters at 7eleven, and they gave me 5%. All 7elevens seem to code as gas even if they don't have a gas station at all. I'd say they're pretty lenient.

This. I mean even if it does include it, you can almost certainly get the items cheaper elsewhere.

Coffee, breakfast sandwiches and cigarettes are pretty cheap (or cheaper) like at WaWa and QuickCheck, obviously you shouldn't go grocery shopping at convenient stores.

A lot of convenient stores have GC rack so amazon cards or Whole Foods cards could make sense for a lot of people

Very good point. Maybe I should hit up 7-Eleven and try a Whole Foods gift card to go along with my Double Big Gulp Pepsi, gigantic bag of Andy Capp's Hot Fries, and of course the King Size Spunow bar.

Probably less significant, but gas does overlap with Citi Dividend 1Q (but Dividend has Drug stores Q2)
