Cap One no CLI anymore

Guys,

Just called Crap One for CLI and was advised no CLI until further notice.

Any idea which banks are giving out good limits.

Current score is between 690-720.

I called and requested a CLI and they told me that they're not issue CLI's now due to the current economic conditions.

ditto for APR reduction requests.

even banks recently termed "zombie banks" like boa and citi are entertaining CLI for some customers.

cap1 must be hurtin'.

May be that they are going into zombie mode until the new cc law is signed. I expect to see more of this.

The new credit card laws that are trying to get passed are for protecting the consumer, not the banks.

I think that is what they were trying to say: they are waiting to see what laws are passed and how it will impact them before giving CLI's that they are going to be subject to under new laws in the near future....especially for the "builder" class cards.

Cap One just gave me a $4,000 CLI out of the blue. I have had the card for years with a $500 limit. I used it to rebuild my credit several years ago. I now have many other cards, all with very high limits. This one was just sock drawered. I have no idea why they gave me the CLI.

another forum member went from 500 to either 10 or 15k, but it was a while ago, cap1 can be a tough nut to crack.

Hmmm I wonder if those that are enrolled in credit steps will still receive there increase??

Those with new accounts and enrolled in Credit Steps have been receiving CLI's.
