How to obtain an Unlimited/Black Card

I've been very curious/intrigued I guess you can say to the heavy black cards or metal cards that basically seem to be you can get anything you want on haha (exaggerating but it sure seems that way) and I want to know how these people get them I see them on sites like Amex and such but it doesn't say you need a score of this or you need an income of that or AAoA's minimum 30 years in perfect standing etc....so if someone that has one can weigh in that would be awesome!

If you’re referring to the AMEX Centurion card, that’s an invite only card for their top tier customers.

If you’re just referring to the no preset spending limit cards like the AMEX Platinum, Gold or Green, anyone can apply for those. You might be shocked to find out they are easier to obtain than revolvers sometimes.

No preset spending limit does NOT = limitless. Your limit is just constantly changing based upon your history and standing.

How do you know what tier you are in or stand and what the qualifications for the next tier up is?!? Sorry I'm new to CLI and cards in general

You don't, at least not until you're sent an invitation.

Typically these cards seek out people who have an average spend of $300K annually on thier CC. You're also looking at AF's in the Thousands.

Not to mention the highest Scores possible.

Most people who qualify for Amex Centurion these days spend several million dollars per year.

*Keep in mind that unless you actually have millions of dollars of disposable income to make use of the perks, it's just a big AF. The Platinum offers a lot of the same benefits...at least the ones that are relevant to someone on a 5 to high-6/low-7 figure income.

The American Express Centurion is an invitation only card. It has an initiation fee of $7,500.00, an annual fee of $2,500.00 and $2,500.00 for each additional card. American Express does not disclose the individual net worth or spending criteria.

Lol I think those cards are pretty rare and not too many qualify for them. Maybe one day, though, if you’re financially fit? Good luck!

2. Hire a salaried personal assistant

3. Ignore the Amex invite

The Cent concierge is better than a PA for dining reservations, but for other things a PA's full-time focus and familiarity with your tastes can give a better result if something is really important.

I have a friend that is a Centurion card holder. He said the every day perks really aren't that much better than what I have on the Platinum. Sure... you read crazy stories about how a personal concierge will fly to the moon to retrieve moon dust or rocks but I have no need for that sort of thing. I get all the concierge service I need on the Platinum, and I checked my "spend limit" once and was approved for $75,000 which is more than he would ever charge on his Black in one swipe. Would I like to have the Centurion to impress the ladies? Sure... but my Ritz card already does that:-)

I don't care about that aspect honestly... or do I ???

the $7,500 AF can theoretically be used as a “salary” for a semi-personal assistant who will book flights, dining reservations, meeting spaces, group trips, company retreats, event catering etc. but I see this more as a corporate kind of perk than a personal perk. These AF can be a tax write off for business, but again just to get it will need a ludicrous amount of spend with Amex on ludicrous things. For anything less, Amex platinum can do just fine to the 99%

I saw the Black Card Master Card offers and it's supposed to be more accesible for us po' folk LOL but the Platinum is gaining a lot of positive feedback too so that is great to hear

Do some research. Most miles enthusiasts consider that card to be vastly inferior to most other ~$500 AF cards.
