After finding out that for the time being, there's no PC option to go from Cap1 QS to Savor One (and I already have the QS1, so I can't have more than two of their cards). I thought of another option after looking at various travel cards as one of the next cards that I want to app for later this summer. Has anyone tried to PC from the QS1 to the Venture One with success? I'm sure I'm going to have to request a CLI on the QS1 since it's currently at $500 CL before the PC. Which leads to my next question: Since I just did a PC from the Platinum to the QS a few weeks ago, do I need to wait out the six months before checking again to try to PC the other card QS1 to the Venture One? If all else fails, I should have the option to PC the QS to the Venture One later on since it does have a much higher limit.

I checked the link the other day and no upgrades were available for me. I don't mind waiting it out until July or August to check again. I might have a better chance with the QS getting upgraded with the $1500 CL that's on it.

I upgraded 1 of my QS1 cards to a VentureOne, CLI on the card shouldn’t have much of an effect on the upgrade process but $500 is a lower limit. It’s also rare to go from a bucketed card to a non-bucketed card. The easiest way is to apply for a new card which is what they’ll tell you. My cards are for sure bucketed since I got them right outside BK. If I want a high limit CapOne card I need to apply for a new card, not something worth taking 3 hits on my credit for at the moment.

Each card goes off the 6 month rule individually. For instance any changes done on one card have no effect on the other. I honestly ask for increases on both of my cards the same month when I do.

As far as PC’ing a QS to VentureOne, I don’t think they do that. I’m sure the response would be “you can always apply for it”.

Call in or ask about an upgrade each month. The link doesn't always cover everything.

Also, there's a small amount of evidence that consecutive months of usage might help. You're doing that right now. Once you've gotten your current balance paid down, make sure you use the card each month, and make a payment. It's not necessary to use it a lot. I was able to PC two QS1s after 12 or 13 consecutive months of usage.

The most common upgrade path from the QS1 is the Quicksilver. But there've also been occasional VentureOne offers. Take whichever offer comes first. When it comes to upgrading a QS1, don't be picky. Once you've shed the annual fee, product change offers should come more frequently.

Also, product-changed starter cards aren't subject to the normal minimum credit limit requirement. We've seen a lot of upgraded Quicksilvers with sub-1k limits.

He said that both cards can eventually be upgraded to the Venture One (though he sounded more confident about me doing the PC for the QS). Since I just did the PC from the Platinum to the QS, I'll wait til July for that card and check monthly with them on the QS1. I use the QS1 for small fast food purchases each week, so it won't be hard for me to keep up the usage on it each month.

VentureOne is the worst reward card from Capital One.

QuickSilver is better than V1.

If you really need more than QS do Venture with AF for 2% back.

I went for QS MC to Venture WMC to Savor WEMC so PC options do vary and change with time.

GL!

If you have a QS1 or annual-fee Platinum and a VentureOne is your only available upgrade offer, you grab it.

From purely the 2% rewards standpoint, one needs to spend 19k per year on a Venture before earning more than on the Quicksilver.

Both the Venture and VentureOne have the hotels.com reward along with transfer partners. Being able to take advantage of one or both of these perks is probably the key to getting the best use out of these cards.

And that's my main reason to try to PC the QS1 to one of the Venture cards is because of the AF that's going to go through very soon. I prefer the no AF Venture One but if the Venture is available when I call them, I'll gladly take it. Right now, I have three 1.5% cards that are abit overkill for me to have (QS, QS1 and FU). My ultimate goal is having one of the Venture Cards and the Savor cards by the end of the summer.
