AMEX 3X CLI not working for me!

I have 5 Amexs, all of them are 3 years old, with the exception of AMEX Plat (i got in August 2018). I haven't gotten the 3x CLI yet! What gives?

3 have $1,000, 1 at $2,000, then AMEX plat

Sounds like your scores are holding you back. Any chance you recall what the letter said as far as why they declined your recent CLI request?

If they started you at the lower end SL 1K, it is much harder to get an increase.

High utilization....my payment history is impeccable though. Always more than minimum.

How long have you been carrying high utilization OP? Are you making just the minimum payments on your other tradelines? What about the balances on your AmEx revolvers...are those currently at $0? And, what is your overall utilization...40%, 60%, higher? What about your FICO 8 scores from AmEx?

While you mention that your payment history may be "impeccable", there are other elements that most lenders take into consideration when evaluating for CLIs. Potentially, AmEx views you as overextended.

Carrying high balances on CCs, especially AmX, is not a good idea. They like transactors. Get your UT below 8.9% and make huge monthly payments. When I can’t PIF, I pay 10x minimum.

Get the 80% UT to <28.9% ASAP!
Get the 30% UT to <8.9%

IMHO, do this before AmX take AA.
