Chase Product Change CSR with CSP annual fee.

CSP opened Jan 2018.

Product changed to CSR in Jan 2019 before annual fee posted.

I remember KIB mentioning in some thread that his AF didnt post for a couple months when he upgraded a CSP->CSR. So I was happy for the couple months "free" on the AF as I've added alot of other high AF cards at the same time.

Woke up this morning and saw that chase finally applied the AF 2 months later but it was only $95. WIll chase prorate the CSP fee here soon and then charge CSR ?

I tried searching for the post from KIB but couldnt find anything so I figured I would ask if anyone had experience.

I got my CSP in January 2018 as well and paid my $95 AF in early Feb 2019. Mid Feb 2019 I upgraded to CSR. My $95 AF was credited back to my card and the $450 AF is supposed to be applied approximately 45 days after upgrade. Not sure if this helps, but it’s all I’ve got that is close to your situation.

This doesn't help, but it's on topic. I applied for CSP on 12/7/17 and PC to CSR on 12/10/18. Have still not received an annual fee for either card.

I had just paid the $95 when I PC'd and within a couple of days they credited it back to my account. The $450 fee showed up 3 months later.

I think this is some funkiness with Chase as a whole.

I've had the Marriott Rewards card since 2016. Got charged my regular $95 fee in Aug 2018. On 12/19/18 I PC'd to Ritz card and my DEC statement reflected the prorated credit for the the $95 annual fee. Usually they credit the prorated annual fee and replace it with the new fee (prorated as well).

They applied the credit, but never charged me the new fee. The changes were made on 12/19 so figured they'd have the Ritz fee on the very next cycle.

Waited for 12/22 cycle - no fees posted
Waited for 01/22 - still no charge
Waited for 02/22 - still nada

To date I still have the Ritz card but have not been charged the Rtiz annual fee. I've got the Ritz for an effective $45 annual fee This year anyway.

Sounds like you're experiencing the same oddity. I thought mine was because I PC'd right when Marriott was executing their final "Marriott/SPG to Bonvoy" stuff and I had just slipped thru their cracks. No complaints so far!

When I downgraded my Chase United Club card to the Chase United Explorer card in April about a week before the next $395 annual fee was to be billed, they credited back a small pro rata share of the previous annual fee within a few days. Four months elapsed, and I was beginning to think they had waived the $95 annual fee for the first year of the Explorer. Suddenly in September the $95 fee showed up, and the fee has been billed in September every year since. Nevertheless, Chase continues to treat April as my card anniversary month. That’s the date they report to the credit bureaus, and that’s when they send me my two one-day passes to the United lounge.

yes about 3-4 months for AF to hit... last time i upgraded to CSP to CSR took abour 4 months then downgraded about 8 months ago to CSP then just re-upped about a month ago to CSR again and yet to get the AF hit but got full use to travel credit, etc.. Expect it to hit in the next few months
