Good news for credit rebuilders and establishers. The $39 annual fee has been removed from the BankAmericard secured credit card.

Bank of America is one of the friendlier card issuers. They used to offer a 500/99 BankAmericard Cash Rewards for anyone that was just short of getting approved. That means $500 limit with $99 down. The only catch was you had to apply for the regular card. If Bank of America dropped your AF then there is a good chance that it will unsecure if you keep going the way you are going. Bank of America makes money from businesses and investments not from CC's, savings, and checking. The only reason that they let you have the later is because it makes them look like a fully rounded bank and they get a few pennies. They are not a big fan of beating around the bush and will help realistically so clearly the AF was the first thing that was going to be a pain point for you in their eyes. Bank of America can and will go far with you the only thing they ask for is a relationship based on respect.
