Which card(s) would be right for me?

I was trying to find out which card or cards would be right for my spend and travel.

Spend: A majority of my spending comes from Dining, Supermarkets, and Bills such as phone and internet.

Dining- $12,000 a year minimum

Supermarkets- $7,200 a year minimum

Bills- around $6,000 a year

Misc- Everything else my spend usually is around $3,000 a year on miscealleanous stuff

Travel:What I am looking for is to use my cashback or points (whichever gets me the most back) to redeem for luxurious hotels. I do not fly business or first class, I tend to find the cheapest flights and I do not value airport lounges.

I am open to options. I have no problem paying high annual fees if I get more value back. All scores are above 740 so getting approved shouldn't be a problem, thank you for taking the time to read this!

I currently have sort of a diverse card variety but I do not know which point system has better redemption through luxurious hotels.

-Amex Gold and Amex Everyday

-Chase Trifecta with CSP

-Discover IT

-2 Capital One Quiksilvers

US Bank Cash+ has 5% on Phone and internet for the first 2k a quarter. You already have the Gold so that will cover dining and supermarkets.

look into the BBP to maximize MR earnings on non category spend that the Gold doesn’t cover. It seems like you have the cards that would reward you most based on your spending.

potentially you could do:

Gold - 4x MR on Dining and Supermarkets

Cash+ - 5% on cell phone and internet/cable and streaming

Discover - 5% on rotation categories

Freedom - 5% on rotation categorie

BBP (or QS) - 2x MR on all other spend

Adding a new IT card would change this to 10% (for 12 months) on rotation categories (subject to a $1500 spend limit per quarter).

IDK which hotels you really enjoy, but there is always room for a hotel-specific brand CC. Out of the ones you have, I believe Amex is the best for hotels, but I could be wrong.

If you do get a hotel card, get one with a free night as a perk. You could also look at the Citi Prestige for the 4th night at hotels for free (capped at twice a year). If you book at an expensive resort or hotel, that free extra night x2 can easily pay for the AF alone.
