Does anyone have data points on WF propel?

I am debating between WF propel and amex BCe for grocery usage. I have a reltaionship with wells fargo (and wells fargo adivsors). I have had no problems with WF, and refuse to part ways with my broker. I have assets in WF and advisors of about $2.9 million. I plan on applying for one in june after HP's from cap1, citi and target will have aged a year. Any DP's for WF propel would be helpful.

$2.9 million dollars????? (Soulja boy voice) Given the history of WF and their tactics I wouldn’t feel comfortable with $2.90 with them. Anyway, I don’t think the propel is a tough card to get.

I'm betting you're in a much better position to get this card than I but here's the DPs from my recent experience and decline.

At time of app: Got 7-10 day message. Pulled Ex (686) and TU (682). AAoA 6 mos, AoYA 3 mos, INQS 8, 8/12. Reasons for denial: 1) Length of time credit established. (Fair enough, oldest account was not quite at 1 year. 2) Amount of inquiries.

Considering recon since they double pulled me. Might as well take a shot.

I’ve never had problems with wf. Most of my assests are in my brokrage accounts, and I mt broker is a close friend of the family. Wells fargo was actually very helpful when my father died. I might be one of tge few people happy with WF, but I don’t have any reason to go through the hasske of changing financial institutions,

With numbers like that, I would be offended if you get denied the Propel. That would get me to move everything elsewhere to be honest.

If I had that kind of capital though, I would just have charge cards 😂

WF Private Bank clients get the Visa Sig that comes w/ additiaonal perks. The also get special financing for Real Estate.

OP, I would think you would know about the special services that WF private bank offers.

OP I was able to pick up this card with a DC'd BK13 on my TU report and I burned them in my BK13 as well.

I can’t speak for the WF, but I love my BCE and the straight cash back on groceries adds up fast! AJC recently got the Propel. Talk to him lol

Lowest SL I have received in years but Ihave no relationship with them and certainly not $3MM.

I would think Amex would be better or of course you could both.

No prior relationship with Wells Fargo.

Fico in the 830-840 range, (was 850 last month, i am sure will drop a few points after i got instant approved US Bank PLOC with almost 20K, with AAoA, AoyA,HP, new account hits).

Applied on Sunday, got pending message

They pulled My EX on Monday, I called on Wed to ask status.

Noobody: I want to ask my application status

WF: We already sent you a form to verify your ID.

Noobody: Can you please email me the form since i will be out of the country soon?

WF: we don't do email

Noobody: can I email you back after I fill and sign the form?

WF: you can't, we don't do email, But you can FAX the form back

Noobody: It's 2019, who is still use FAX machine, I can even find one.

WF: WE DO !!!

I can say the could be relationship start off on the wrong foot

If you're looking for a grocery card, I'd look elsewhere. Would only be 1 pt on groceries. Rewards categories are gas, dining, travel, streaming services.

That being said, applied approx 6 months ago. Pulled EX in TX. Scores 750 range at the time. Definitely nowhere near your asset level but still approved instantly with low SL(compared to other CCs in my profile). Called for recon and got a slight bump using CR from the initial application. WF portfolio customer and 22 year relationship at the time.

If I have $3M with them I won’t even ask the community for DPs! I’d just call my advisor and have him/her get me a Propel with at least $30K SL regardless of my Credit rating. That’s how I’d know if our relationship is two-way! If I get turned down, I’d move my $3M somewhere else where my business will be cherished!

But since you asked for DP then here’s mine;

App’d July last year and got denied with EX FICO9 in the 770s. Reason for denial was too many new accts (5/24). WF was NOT IIB.
Received a pre-qual’d mailer about 50 days and 4/24 later and got an instant $10K approval!
So in my case, they were sensitive to new accts regardless of Credit.

Hi @Andypanda, if you're looking for a card to use for grocery purchases the BCE would be the better fit.

On the other hand, the Propel is a decent travel card for somebody who's not into miles or transferring points to partners. Since a GoFar Rewards "point" is worth a penny, the Propel is a de facto 3% cash back card for travel and restaurants (and streaming services... can't leave that out... LOL).

Others have spoke of some 'bumps in the road' with approvals, but my own was straight-forward and painless. I had a pre-approved offer on the app, and I was instantly approved for $15k. Due to my own relatively generous credit line and good APR I feel certain that having other accounts with them is considered during the approval process.

With your level of investments with Wells Fargo I will echo what others have said to ask your broker for assistance if you're interesting in applying for the Propel... I suspect you'll have no trouble at all.
