What is the value of the Capital One Venture

What makes the Venture more valuable as opposed to the Citi DC? The DC is 2% cash back, no annual fee.

What value does the Venture have that some of the airline cards, like Gold Delta Skymiles or United Explorer MileagePlus, don't have?

Until recently, the answer was: Get it (if interested!) for the bonus and first year AF waived, then cancel

precisely because it is a restricted 2% card with an AF, and there are free ones out there (apart from the DC, also PPMC, Fidelity, a Penfed version, and various others). Some also liked it for the potentionally high SL (although that is variable) but IMO, that's not worth an AF.

However, recently it became a true transfer card, where points can be transferred to partners. Many will not like the partners particularly, but they are there. Also the temp Hotels.com deal, but the free VentureOne also has that.

Venture also gives you a Global Entry credit which is pretty good for a $95 annual fee card. Most cards with that benefit have a much higher annual fee. It isn't a reason to get the card, just one of them. If it had been my only travel card, I would have kept it. I mostly used it for overseas travel where Amex wasn't accepted.

Right, that makes sense the first year, but then, comparing to a free 2% card, three years of AF is more than the cost of Global Entry.

I used to want this card but the three hard pulls aren't worth it to me(even for 500 cash back). However, if one can't get into Amex or Chase for a AF then it's an option.

The 50k miles SUB doesn't equate to $500 cash back--but rather $250. Venture miles are only worth 1/2 cent if cashed out. Better to use it on gift cards or travel to get 1cpm.

Also worth noting that you can redeem the same travel purchase over and over to reduce your total balance. For example, if you have a lyft/Uber purchase of 10$ with a total balance of 200$ you can redeem that 10$ 20 times to make your balance 0.

If you redeem against travel purchases the points are worth 1¢ each, which would be the full $500 for a 50k point sign-up bonus.

As @Anonymous mentions you can also redeem against the same travel purchase repeatedly, so it's trivial to get the full-value when redeeming. (I concede this is a loophole, but it has existed for literally years so at this time it's fair to say it's reliable.)
