Best 0% Intro APR & Travel Miles Card?

Without getting into all of my personal and business finances and credit (which are both good), I'm curious as to what suggestions are out there on the best credit cards offering a 0% Intro Purchase APR that also includes the best travel miles rewards? Long story short, I'm looking to make a new purchase (just under $7k) and was hoping to find a card that offeres mileage rewards or points that I could apply to (and essentially cover) airfare for 2 adults this coming fall? I'd also prefer cards with no annual fees...

It seems like there are limited options out there but perhaps I'm missing a few. So far, I've come across the following:

Capital One Spark Business - 20,000 miles on spend of $3,000 within the first 3 mos, 0% intro APR 9 months, No Annual Fee

Capital One Venture One - 20,000 miles on spend of $1,000 within the first 3 mos, 0% intro APR for 12 months, No Annual Fee

Discover it Miles - unlimited 1.5x Miles for every dollar spent, 0% on Purchases for 14 months, No Annual Fee

Any suggestions here would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!

1. Do you want:

- Real airline miles (that is, point in a frequent flyer program)

- Maximum cash back (even if it can only be redeemed efficiently towards travel), or

- Cash that can be used for anything (even if it means getting a little less cash back)?

2. If you want real miles, is there one particular airline you expect to fly? Some cards, including the ones you list, use the term "miles" rather loosely.

3. After the one $7k purchase, how much spend might you put on the card in a year?

4. Are you willing to get a card only to close it after a year or two?

I would suggest the AMEX Everyday card. It has 15 months 0% interest and you can get MR points for travel. It's a great intro card. $0 AF

As I've never had a rewards card before (all just standard credit cards) I'm not totally sure. In a nutshell, we would like to open a new card for the new purchase and use it primarily for airfare and potentially for cruises (depending on the cash back options). As far as the airline is concerned, we mostly fly domestic in the US so we don't have any particular airline that matters more than another. However, we do plan on flying a few times a year and taking one cruise a year so I'd say the planned spend level on the new card would be around $4k-$6k a year.

Regarding getting and closing a card within year...well, I tend to prefer to keep all my cards open with $0 balances but if there is something that would fit better I'm open to suggestions.

I suggest you get something with a nice bonus and a waived first-year AF. A big bonus will put you nicely ahead of any annual fee, and you can figure out what long-term cards you want in the coming months. If you decide annual fees aren't for you after a year, you can close the card or convert it to something else.

You might consider for bonuses:

Barclays Arrival Plus: $700 towards travel (technically more like $735). $89 AF waived the first year.

Venture: $500 towards travel (not sure how the redemption works, exactly). $95 AF waived the first year.

Savor: $500 cash. $95 AF waived the first year. Beware of offers for less than $500.

CSP: 60k points (worth at least $750 towards travel if you book through Chase). $95 AF due the first year.

I don't believe any of these offer 0%, though. Would you rather have 0% or an extra $400-$500?

0% yes, but OP doesn't sound familiar enough with miles to use MRs very well (other than 1 cpp for flights). Plus, the card generally offers only a small bonus.

I'll definitely take a look into these. I noticed that the Barclays has a 0% apr balance transfer which would negate the need for a 0% Intro Apr as I could use a different card and transfer most of the new purchase balance to take advantage of essentially the same thing. And you are right, it might be worth getting a card with the AF that is waived for the first year. Guess I've got some more thinking to do about cards that offer the 0% apr balance transfers...

0% balance transfers don’t earn rewards and almost all of them have an up front 3-5% fee as well.

Boa Premium Rewards CC would be worth a look. 50k sub for 3k spend. 2pts for travel and dining and 1.5pts for everything else. You can also up your earning if you want to dump some $$ into a BOA/Merrill acct.
