Barclay Card will never give a CLI?

I’ve had a Barclay card apple rewards card now for around 1.5 years with a starting limit of 2k and I’ve always used and payed it off every few months.

Now while I’ve asked for a CLI on the website (which might be the issue) I can never get an increase from them. Is there a trick that I’m missing?

Since it appears that you've requested a CLI in the past, what were the reasons cited for not getting approved?

What type of usage are you placing on the card and how frequent?

It may be that this is a Barclay card that normally doesnt see many cli either.

They've given me auto increases from 1,000 up to 10,000. A fair amount of useage, but nothing crazy.

The main reason is for bankruptcy, and a couple other reasons that I can’t recall at the moment. I just thought it weird that I got the card with a much lower credit rating but now I can never get an increase.

Usage I’ll do on occasion 50-60% as I’ve done at times and I’ve made very large purchases up to 80-90% but pay off quick solely so I get the points. I try to stay around 30%

Barclay's is a very sensitive issuer. Think poking them feels like a heavyweight punch. If you have a BK on file they will usually not want to increase their exposure to you in any way as it is an unnecessary risk in their eyes. Likewise if you have ever included Barclay's in a BK I would think they would not want to issue you a new account but maybe they would give you one after a long time but the limit would be low and no CLI's. Basically you do not want to even show a reason for them to do anything if you wish to keep working with them.

I never had them before the BK and I got this card around 3-4 months after the BK in August 2017 (I believe) was discharged so I’m a bit dismayed as to why the CLI is always declined, I’ve only tried twice. I’m gonna guess that I should call next time I want an increase as I’ve heard it’s a ton better.

Keep in mind that with Barclay's you are usually getting an HP when you request a CLI. I am guessing that it is the BK that is keeping you form getting the CLI, but without knowing what the rest of your profile looks like it is hard to tell.

An update, this morning I woke up to an auto CLI from 2000-3800 from Barclay. Finally nice to see SOME growth from the card after over 2 years since getting the card.

The Apple Card gives auto CLIs. Mine got maxed out years ago for a Macbook pruchase, then PIF'd and small use afterwards. LOL they probably want me to buy a tricked out IMac Pro since I haventy bought anything from them in like 5 years which explains the auto CLIs.
