Is there a reason you need the Amex gold? If they are capping you at $3100 I’d take my business elsewhere. You seem to have no problems running up 3k and paying it off... so I’m sure you would have no problem getting another card from a different bank with a large limit.

A year ago I went through an Amex Financial Review, they placed a $3,100 spending limit on my Amex Gold ... is there a set time period when they will lift the spending limit or can I call to ask and have it removed?

Does anyone have any experience with this type of situation?

Thanks in Advance !

No set time limit although they do get removed "usually" with time whether 1 or 2 years, etc.. Call and speak to them and see what you can do to get your NPSL back?

Personally I would call and ask, as long as your account is in good standing and your credit profile is up to snuff—no high UT, no only minimum payments, no baddies, etc.

Hmmm. I just read another post that referred to the $3100 amount.

I tried calling last week, they told me, "They will reach out" when they are ready to increase my limit.

I PIF every month and use right up to that $3,100 limit ...

When they completed their financial review, what reason did Amex give for lowering your spending limit? That may be the key to understanding why they aren't ready to increase it.
