Balance Transfer Question

Hey all, I just have a balance transfer question. So I have had my chase sapphire preferred credit card open for a couple of years now. I used it to make a big purchase about $2500 and I paid that off completely. However, a day ago I got a refund for it so now it shows up as a negative balance on my statement which means that Chase owes me that money. I have a balance on my discover card and wanted to transfer it to my sapphire card but I checked and do not have any balance transfer offers on my sapphire card. So my question is if there is anything I can do to get them to give me a balance transfer offer? Maybe call them or something? I've been searching for an answer but haven't had any luck.

You can always call and ask. They may or may not give you one, but explain the situation. If they allowed it, it would be an awesome deal for you lol

I just called them, they said they can't give me a balance transfer offer because that is done internally. She did say though that what they could do is mail me a check for the money that is credited to my account which works out perfectly so I accepted that option lol

I dont think the CSP is a BT kind of card is it? Did you actually double pay your card to get a $2500 credit? Interesting

If I remember correctly, when I first opened the account they did ask if I wanted to transfer a balance but other than that no. I just thought it would be worth a try to ask for one lol and well when I made the purchase I immediately paid it off but I ended up getting a refund for it so it showed up as a negative balance meaning they owed me what I had paid lol

Most of Chase's CCs (including CSP) can provide promotional 0% BT offers (with a BT fee) or 0% APR for purchases for X period if a cardholder qualifies - it can be one or the other.

The BT ones can be checked online to see whether any promotional offers are available or they're also sent (targeted) via email or snail mail.

Im still confused. If you made a purchase for $2500, that would have been $2500 owed. You then paid the charge in full. Thus completing your obligation to pay the purchase. Why would Chase give you back the $2500 you spent and paid once?. Sorry im off in the head today lol. It sounds like Chase gave you a free $2500

OP paid the bill

OP got refund for purchase

Chase credited account, appearing as negative balance

OP wanted his money back, instead of it staying as a credit on CSP, so they can use it elsewhere

OP got Chase to issue a refund check
