BBVA rewards

I am little confused I selected 3x for utilities and 2x for gas, when I check my reward points it only looks like I got the bonus for cell phone bill on 3/27/19 and gas on 3/30/19, all my others and there are quite a few only got 1x the points? I am really confused, I have been paying electric , cable and water bills and tons of gas through this card. Anybody have a clue, do they give bonus at statement cut?

Did you select your 3x and 2x categories for the new quarter, which began on 4/1?

From the BBVA Clearpoints rewards page:

"If you do not make selections before a quarter begins, all purchases made during that quarter will earn one (1) point per $1."

ok thank on the phone with them now, i spent alot this month hopefully they will fix it?

Once the new quarter starts, no changes can be made. I forgot to change mine from Utilities to Groceries (so I can get 3% back on Walmart purchases) before 4/1, so I'm stuck with it until 7/1. I've already selected my categories for that next quarter so I won't forget!

Well mine were selected for utilities and gas when I got the card, so if I didn't "reselect or select" prior to the quarter change, I essentionally get nothing, I am understanding that? Sorry I ran over 1K through this card, I want my points lol

CSR stated I was supposed to be getting them, they will look into and call me back within 2-3 days ugggg.

If you don't select categories for the new quarter, you only get 1% for everything. It is definitely a bummer. I think there are a few rewards card out there that are similar to this setup.

Open the app, go to Rewards Center, tap your balance and see if you have categories. Unfortunately I doubt you do - they get removed each quarter and you have to reselect them which is why I already picked mine for next quarter even though they’re tentative.

I hope they fix it for you, it would indeed be a bummer. It’s about the only thing I don’t like about this card is that you have to select your categories but at least unlike Disco, you can do it as soon as the quarter starts so you just have to remember to do it once in a quarter.

Thanks, I am hoping they honor my selections and understand that I didn't quite get how it worked, and that's alot of points to me. Hopefully they will do the right thing for me the customer)

This is good to know. I will immediately make sure my categories are picked. That is kind of annoying that it doesn’t auto renew your categories.

Thats absolutely ridiculous . Its their card their rules but unless you pick cats, a standard 1% reward card. Lol, ill take Credit One Nascar for $100 Alex

I will keep everyone posted. I mean I just got the card in march and picked my catagories, now I was supposed to pick again April 1, ridiculous! !! We put several hundred through gas and utilities. Hoping they honor my request.

They just called me and as a one time courtesy they have credited me the points, it doesn't show on the individual charges , but they added 1001 points to my totals

Kudos to them for such quick and thoughtful service.
