Larger Discover Increase With Just A Soft Pull?

A buddy of mine requested an increase through the app and didn’t get what he wanted, so he called and they approved him for more. He says they did this without a hard pull. Does that ever happen? I was always under the impression that if you want more than what they offer, you’ll have to take a hard pull.

Happens all the time. Known on the forums as a "Double Dip" or "DD". You can search for the term resulting in tons of other posts about the experience and how to properly execute.

Search Discover Double Dip...it's very successful with Discover.

Everyone it seems beat me to the bunch. Yes its the infamous/famous Discover Double Dip. or DDD for short...

Never guarenteed but oftentimes fruitful.. its kinda a Discover thing....

How to dip.. The Discover Double Dip

1. See some of Miss Discos somewhat common post 3 statement/months auto luv... (or any Auto Luv) Go and hit the CLI button.... or call and see if theres more on the table....

2. Hit the CLI button yourself, then call in within 24 hours to see if they can give you a bit more....

Thats how you do the double dip...

That is true of just about every other lender other than Discover. With Discover after receiving a SP CLI one can always call and ask if there's anything left on the table to be had without a HP. There are mixed but decent favorable results with this approach. If one is told no at the time of the call in, it would take that person giving up a HP for a shot at anything more from Discover at that time.
