BBVA taking forever to close

My BBVA ClearPoints doesn’t want to close lol. I’ve called but CSR says the account is closed. The website and app both show the card as open and the 4k limit as available. My OCD doesn’t like this at all. Other cards show as closed instantly. Why you do this to me, BBVA.

Anybody else had experience with cards resisting closure lol??

To close a BBVA card is akin to closing a Penfed card, it can happen, and does, but usually with side affects🤯

When did you contact them to close it? And, did you request written confirmation of the closure?

I did. Actually just a few minutes ago the app started showing “closed.”

So, essentially just a timing instance. It's always good to check, but IME, once in receipt of written documentation if the end results do not match, definitely escalate.

Nonetheless, in a variety of circumstances, these things resolve themselves (especially depending on their systems) within 48 hours.

I had this issue with a credit union before and it required putting it in writing specifically pointing to the closing of the card for good.

Took phone calls and tracking that letter-sent it certified mail w/signature to make sure it got there received so they wouldn't pull a fast one.

And since it was mentioned, on my CRA's my closed by consumer PenFed account keeps showing pays as agreed and dated 3/19 last look.

I also got a preapproval from them recently to open a card-or reopen a closed one? Geez come on.
