Amex 6 month rule on CLI?

Went and applied for a CLI today on my Amex Delta Gold Skymiles card and was told that Amex only allows one CLI every 6 months. I havehan Amex Optima card that IIgot an increase on in February.

Has anyone else ran in to this before and is there a way around it?

Yep, I have ran into it like a Brick wall, I have not found a way around it.

They are pretty firm on the 6 Month CLI deal.

unless someone else with more knowledge can chime in?

No way around it. AMEX takes your whole account into consideration when you ask for a CLI. So because you got one on your Optima back in February you'll have to wait til August for your next one for either card.

Yeah this is a pretty firm rule with Amex. One CLI per PERSON, not per CARD

Do they do the random auto CLI or is it only by request?

Depending on your overall profile, internal history plus other factors, a variety of AmEx cards usually qualify for auto-CLI.

Never depend on auto luv, its not reliable as they are rare and cant be predicted.
