topic Will upgrading my Capital One card Effect the age of my accounts? in Credit Cards

I have a very basic Capital One platinum visa $1250 credit limit. This was my second credit card opened way back in 2007. My goal is to try and obtain some higher credit limits across my cards so that I can use more promotional offers on balance transfers without having severe negative impacts on utilization. I tried a CLI and was denied for a reason such as not using my current credit limit enough. I find this funny since for the past year I had a few hundred dollars on the card at 0% just paid it off one or two statements ago.

My understanding is the upgrading to a quicksilver will likely allow me to get better CLIs and a higher limit. I have a pre approval offer that states I will keep my same account number. I’m not willing to try for a larger credit limit on this account if it will reset the age of the account from 11+ years to 0 months. Is that what’ll happen? If so I’d rather keep this useless card open to lift up my average age and apply for more credit elsewhere. Been having a tough time researching how this works and want to make sure I don’t damage myself.

My current credit score is in the mid 700s with utilization around 20% I have about 8 cards this capital one is by far the smallest the average limit on my cards is about 10k my highest is 17,700

Answering from someone who pc from cap1 platinum to venture1 myself and the answer is no. All terms, card number & apr remain the same the only different is the type of card. But you can start getting the benefits of the new card but not the sign up bonus offer...
