Simplifying things by waiting for a bank to receive my CC statement then paying from that once per month does not make me relaxed. I want to know directly from the CCC what charges are going through the card.

And yes, participants in modern society have data tracked. That is a feature, not a bug. It is a way that we maintain our identity in this large society. It is also a method the banks and CCC use to try to recognize fraud, when something outside your normal pattern happens.

Yeah delays with bill pay do happen (had it happen to me last month) and the responsibility for the late payment fee will fall on the sending bank as long as you scheduled the payment far enough in advance but any AA taken against you for the late payment isn’t their problem. I am fortunate that I actually didn’t have a payment due when I sent this push that ended up being delivered late but I will go back to initiating pull from my issuer’s apps for everyone except Synchrony as a result of this scare (and that’s just because Synchrony is a pain with their portals, if I ever have a delay with them I’ll go to pull payments there too).

It’s a moot point for me though since between both FirstBank and DCU, only Discover offers ebills.

The way ACH transfers work, the receiving institution knows exactly the routing number and account number where a payment originated. I don't understand the point of not providing that information...perhaps the best solution is to write paper checks but even then MICR will ensure that the routing and account numbers are recorded.

Wells Fargo, Chase, US Bank Credit Cards offer it. Heck, even ancient Fort Knox FCU Gas Card offers it.

Bank routing numbers are public information. You can go to any bank website and get their routing number even if you are not a customer. It’s also part of the numbers on paper checks.

Any debit (like an ebill payment) will happen via ACH which means they will get your account number.

Again, all of this info is on paper check that you have been sending for years. What exactly are you afraid they will do with this info? Steal your money? They have legal ways of stealing your money...it’s called interest and fees jk
