Amex Gold Rewards - viewing points?

So I got the card 6 days ago and have put about 4k on it so far. All transactions have posted except 1. I have used it at grocery stores, restaurants, utility bills, etc. I can see points for some of them when I click the transaction and some show none and some show 4x (restaurants-but only 1 shows 4x so far).

I assume I need to wait until next statement to be able to see all of the points earned for each transaction? I am just curious since when I click on some transactions it shows the amount of points or 4x, etc. and some show none but I should get 1x for everything minimum.

Can't speak to the points system per se, but on my Magnet card there is definitely a lag after the charge posts - it usually takes several days before anything will show up under "rewards" when I click each transaction. You don't need to wait for the statement to close, but you typically do have to wait a few days after the charges post to see the rewards earned.

None of my transactions show rewards points until the statement closes. I've gotten in the habit of checking the statement a few days after it closes to make sure all of my bonus points posted correctly. About every three months I have to call them and have them correct the points. This month it's a gas purchase that counted the inside purchase at 2X but not the pay at the pump.

Thanks. I will keep watch and take notes to make sure I'm being credited. I'm just surprised I can see the points for some but not everything..I figured it would be see them all at once or see none until statement cuts.

Are the transactions you don't see points for pending transactions?

I am not sure if i am understanding you correctly. You can goto your amex account and goto your statements and activities. You can manually enter in the date range you are looking for . It should show you what purchases count for 4x . I am not sure if this will work before your first statement cuts though.

Are the transactions you don't see points for pending transactions?

All of the transactions with points or no points (it's just blank) are posted transactions. I will post a screenshot of a few of them shortly.

That is correct. My first statement doesn't cut until 6/14 but if i look at the transactions, I can click on it and it will show me the points awarded. Some are 1x, 4x, and then some are blank, even though they are posted and should qualify for 1x and some 4x.

Not a big deal as I wasn't expecting to see anything about the points until the statement cuts but I was curious if there is a reason why I can see some and others don't show...

I just logged in and looked at a few days now I see some 4x and some of the ones that didn't show any points now have points. So I am now assuming it must take up to 2-3 days after posting to show the points.

Don’t sweat it @FicoGuy2019 As long as the charges are coded correctly then the bonus points will show up eventually. Like @kdm31091 mentioned, Amex has a lag of sometimes several days but rest assured you’ll get what’s due to you. Congrats on the approval and enjoy those MR points once they come rollin’ in.

With new accounts it can be a bit weird. These are from my first three Amex Gold statements last fall. As you can see, the first one shows no reward points, the second my sign up bonus and the third finally shows some results from spending.

Online, the points sort themselves out, usually within a few days after posting. Same with Dining credit and airline fee credit.. I've never not received bonus points where appropriate.
