AMEX HHonors Question

I have the regular HHonors card, and the HHonors Aspire card.

My baby AMEX HHonors card just earned a free anniversary weekend night 1 month ago.

Can I cancel it, and just keep my Aspire card? Will I lose that Anniversary night if I do that?

Do you have both linked to the same account or separate accounts? Also, help me understand why I keep reading about people having multiple cards as apposed to just one.

I would think you’d keep the night as long as both cards are on the same Hilton Honors account. My base card and my Ascend are both on the same one. A couple months ago I booked two nights using the base card and still got Gold status and the 12x points. I used the base card but got the elevated status and earning because I have an Ascend on the same account, even though I didn’t use the Ascend. Call and verify but my gut feel is that you’ll keep the night.

@HighAchiever, I can’t speak for anyone else, but I have both HH cards because my base card was one of the two first cards from Amex that I got - I didn’t know if I’d qualify for the Ascend at the time. I cold-apped with no prequals. Got the Ascend 4 months later, and after a year is up on the base card, I’ll fold it into the Ascend as much as I’m able and then close it.

Interesting, I may look into doing something along those lines. I didn't realize they could both be on the same account and combine reward points. Thanks!
