Does anyone know if wells fargo uses fico 9 to determine if you are approved for one of their cards. The fico score i am given when i log

into my account is fico 9 but alot lower that under fico 8.

I don't think score really decides whether any lender persay will approve you being 8/9 or whatever score version it is more-so what is in your credit report/profile. A few exceptions might be Syncrony as their limits are very score driven, but still depends on ones profile. I know this is really the answer you were looking for. Scores are just a overall health gauge to me more less.

When I applied for and was approved for a Propel Card on May 18th, 2019 they HP’d EQ and Experian. “The price you pay for credit” letter they sent me cited EQ. The score listed was the same as my EQ FICO 9 score at the time I applied.

I would go off your current Fico 8s to give you a general feeling as toward if you'll get approved .If you have low scores most likely your 9's wont save you anyway.

According to Wallet Hub, not likely. Looks like a minimum of 700 is needed, though it may very well depend upon a person's profile.

While Amex has given credit to people in the mid to high 600's, it's generally been their core products. Not co-branded cards.

I personally would wait until at least 710-725 just to eb sure.

I opened my secured card in March 2017 and it was converted to unsecured December 2018. It might have been converted sooner, but I was carrying a VERY high balance ($980/$1,200) on that card since the beginning. When I finally paid it down, that's when I got the graduation letter.
