U.S. Bank is one of the few that consider banking relationships. Many people deposit $500 for a few months prior to apping to improve their chances. People swear it helped and even led to higher starting limits.

Considering applying to the US Bank AR... how keen is US Bank on banking relations?. I had a horrible incident with my bank so I moved over a large chunk of my savings to US Bank... account opened over 2 years ago..

Are they like WF?. When it comes to banking relations correlating with UW?.

Fico8 Ex: 781, TU: 773. My only worry is the 69 Apps on EX... only 8 on TU..

Question really is, is a savings account enough, because the OP is an existing client thanks to their savings account. He should probably go in to a branch and ask the manager.

Wow if I am reading this correctly did you say you have 69 INQs on you EX? I don’t feel so bad now with 29. Also I believe they check TU so you could get lucky there.

OP qualifies to apply for AR for having a savings account. That definitely covers the eligibility part.

USB has pulled TU or EQ for me, however, how many of those 69 EX INQs or 8 TU led to new accounts? That is the issue and not so much the # of INQs they may not see (unless they also SP EX). From recent data, it appears they’re not offering recons if the denial is due to the number of new accounts.

@Creditplz... shinny new USB Altitude Reserve would look mighty nice under your flag Note, USB uses a "customer relations score" which is not discussed here but, can be a plus sometimes when needed. For myself, since their system has never allowed me to obtain online approvals I have used the in branch bankers and it took two days for approvals (manual review) and everything I wanted was approved. Good luck on whatever you choose?

I can’t comment on the AR other than it looks attractive to me since I travel A LOT just not for some time, I started by apping for the platinum for the long term 0% apr it came with. USB gave me a 3500 SL, I then opened a checking account and maybe a month +\- later I apped for the cash+ and was approved a few days later with a 14k SL.

I don’t keep much in the checking account as it isn’t my main. Both were manual reviews and they had questions since I apped away from my home address. I do like them a lot they’ve been a breeze for me to deal with and I want to grow with them.

I’m sure there’s some DP’s I’m leaving out so if you have any questions just ask!

While your savings account is enough to apply for the card, I'll warn you that if you've opened 5 or more new accounts in the last 12 months, your chances are slim. Also depends on where you're located for who they pull. In CO, they almost exclusively pull EX.

I was denied recently and they've been my main bank for over 12 years. I'll try again in Nov.

The Altitude Reserve card is the one that you need to have a banking relationship with US Bank in order to apply. The approval process for this card seems to go to a manual review. I have a 19 year banking relationship with them and was able to be approved for the card last year. However, I was declined for their PLOC at the same time. Not sure how the relationship plays on other credit items with US Bank, but from what I understand regarding my profile, I have been told by bankers to always ask for a manual review. I did so recently and was able to receive a cli with a hp. It is very difficult to understand US Bank credit.
