Worked the Membership for the RBFCU and experimented with the address and they are geo restricted. There are many organizations they allow to gain access so a person could run that approach (seem to be from the same geo area however).

Some other options that might be available to the general population but not necessarily credit unions:

* Navy Federal CU Flagship Rewards Visa

pays 2 points (2% cash back) on everything although it has $49 AF.

(*However, if you use the TSA Global Entry reimbursement every 5 years at $100, it effectively

lowers AF by $20/yr to $29. NFCU membership does require military-affiliation but extends family

relationships pretty widely to cover Parents, Grandparents, Spouses, Siblings, Children (including

adopted and stepchildren), Grandchildren, and Household members.)

BBVA Bank Rewards Visa

pays 2% back with a $1K monthly Direct Deposit.

First National Bank Omaha (FNBO) Complete Rewards Visa

pays 2% when deposited into a bank account, mortgage, or 529 plan with them.

Also, for those of us who are veterans:

*Randolph-Brooks FCU is open to membership for all veterans if

I'm not mistaken, regardless of geofencing.

      * PenFed FCU does not require keeping an account or a $500 DD for

veterans when enrolled in their Honors Advantage program.

If we are including banks, Key has their cash back card. It’s 1.5% normally but if you have an average daily balance of $1K each in checking and savings, it’s 2%.

Honestly there are so many hoops with most of the 2% cards that I would pretty much rather just cut my spending by .5% rather than deal with the hassles. It’s only like $50 a year if I actually threw all of my spend on that card (which I don’t) which I can make up with a single sign up bonus and thensome.

My time is worth more than .5% cash back on a tiny bit of my spending. I have spent $938 on the PayPal card since I got in January. That’s an extra $4.92 in cash back over my QS but if I have a problem with my QS, it’s a 10 minute phone call and there’s a new card in the mail and a dispute filed with me having to do no further work.

@Anonymous wrote:

No we are definitely not including banks.
