Two USBank cards at once?

Hi all. I tried finding info on this here on the forums, and I was unsuccessful.

I’m curious if anyone has successfully gotten two cards by US Bank at the same time? If so, is it one HP or two?

Not sure what the current practice is but, I did get 2 cards w/ 1 HP 2/2018.

Autodenied due to inq's @ 4-5

Recon'd / approved 1K/ea

recon'd for 25K / countered for 10K/ea

Needless to say they're conservative and can be a bit frugal about CL's unless you're willing to push them a bit.

With how strict US Bank has been lately, I wouldn't try it. They really have tightened up a lot since June.

I'd space their apps at least 6 months apart for best results.

OP, I would concur with the above 2 posts. All things considered and profile-dependent, UW criteria and restrictions these days are far less flexible than a year ago let alone 6 months ago.

You're welcome to try as a GP for DPs sake, but I'd venture to say that unless you have a stellar profile for which UW may not bat an eye + you meet UW criteria then it may not fly.

people on the forum are saying that they won't approve you if you have opened more than 1 card in the past year from any lender, and you can't recon that decision.

Thanks everyone.

I guess I’ll weigh out which option is better for me at the moment. I wanted to do Altitude Reserve and Cash+.

I’ll be opening a checking account with them soon, to help with the odds either way. Thanks for all the info

Altitude Reserve can only be applied for by existing customers, but that term is a bit loose. It just means having any other account for at least 5 business days prior to applying. If AR is a good fit for you, open the checking account and wait at least a week.

@K, that was the plan. DW and I are wanting to do more night-away trips, so this will be a good addition, I think.

Probably not what you are looking for but because US Bank's application system sucks, I actually applied for 2 secured cards within a couple of days of each other and actually was approved for both of them. I didn't realize this until they took the deposits from my checking accounts.

Their website is INCREDIBLY buggy so if you really wanted 2 cards, I suspect that you could probably get approved for 2 cards if you applied for both within a very short time frame.

However, I don't trust the bank that can't bother to have a properly working IT infrastructure and website.

Not quite the same, but when they gave me my truck loan - they used the same HP to give me a credit card too, YMMV

I was able to double app for Cash+ & Kroger Rewards a couple years ago and was approved on a single EX pull $8K & $18K SL respectively. Like others have mentioned that could be a long shot these days as they have got real stingy on approving anyone with active credit seeking within a year timeframe. I didn’t even have a prior banking relationship. Go figure.
