This refresh is a huge devaluation if you prefer cashback. This card only earn Uber Cash now.

The Good:

5% Uber Cash on all Uber purchases: Uber, Uber Eats and Jump

The Bad:

-Restaurant is 3% Uber Cash now

-No more $50 statement credit for online services after $5k spend

-No more 2% on Online Shopping

-No more Cash back

Well, that just stinks. Can't say I'm surprised though. The Uber card was somewhat of a jewel among no AF cards.

It will probably be on the chopping block for me. I don't see as much value in Uber Cash as I do in cash back.

Another bruise on Barclaycard.

First, their cards seem to rotate in and out at random times.

They had the Ring which had what, an 8.24% interest rate? Took it and nearly doubled the rate.

Had a great card in the Uber Visa, which they now destroyed.

Will eventually lose their Apple Card businessn entirely to Goldman Sachs, unless a card applicatant doesn't know any better.

Failed at that one card where they offered airline transfer partners (forgot the name because it stunk anyways).

They just need to pack their bags and head back to the UK. It's obvlous Barclays can't compete in the American capitalist banking system.

If I get something great up front, I'm still comfortably ahead when the unpleasant refresh comes.

Our rigid long-term card strategies are a source of continual entertainment for the nerfing demons.

Dammit!!! Uber Cash is worthless if you don't use Uber for anything... I wonder if you can opt out and convert it to another option under the Barclay's umbrella. I checked my account and there's still cash redemption option there. Wondering if the refresh won't have an effect on things while still under the 1st year umbrella of protection from changes.... though it's a rewards change not a card terms change.

Although there's not really any stunning options with them in general at this point since they don't really offer core products any longer from what I've been seeing for the last few years.

Time to run down the list of cards and see what's going to be a keeper and what's going to the slaughter house. Time to trim some fat and diversify again.

I've used up those funds, along with the monthly Amex credit. The desktop website shows the correct credit balance ($0) and my CCs have been charged the correct amount (after one dispute I raised months ago when they changed the price in several ways mid-ride). But since then the app has been unable to display the correct balance.

Uber CS is useless in fixing this. All they say is to close and reopen the app, or reinstall it. I reinstall it and still get this bug.

This gives a little more insight https://onemileatatime.com/uber-credit-card-changes/ Looks like things are safe into the first 1/2 of 2020 before they muck with existing accounts. Really not impressed with the auto convert feature at $50 if you plan on keeping the card past the current iteration.

yeah i just saw that, and i'm about to call up barclays and tell them off, i literally just got this stupid card and used it only twice and now i see this. they don't even have the decency to grandfather the existing cardholders like they did with savor when it got moved to an AF.

I'm at 2200 points of the 2500 needed to redeem for cashback. I only use if for dining, so once I cash out I'll just toss it a Netflix sub every few months to keep it active, $6k CL. Oddly I still have Barclays Cashback MC w/$10k CL that's been closed to new apps for years, I just use it for 2% rewards for my electric bill to keep it active.

Barclays is the absolute worst for nerfing/screwing with then CCs.
