Late payments, how did it happen to you?

Also, late payments just 1-2 days late, are they reported to the Bureaus? Anything bad happen, like universal default with those kinds of lates?

So what happened in your situation that you had a late payment? How long was it overdue?

OK, if you paid your creditor a day or two late, then this should not hit your credit reports. BUT you absolutely will be hit by your creditor with late payment fees, and they will remember this for a long time to come. It will depend on your creditor as to whether you have now entered the wonderful world of universal default.

It happened to me from sheer, dumb stupidity. None of them were over $100, and most were under $50. It took me an awfully long time to put everything on to the computer, and that is now my God-send. When it comes to paper bills, I might as well bend over and cough.

Right, all my accounts have online access/payment which seems to work rather well. Only problem is I obsessively check every account every day, sometimes more than once a day =p It's like making the rounds, look at this card, look at the next one, look at the bank account, look at the other bank account, start over again in an hour.

Ah well, I'll probably stop obsessively looking at the accounts when I get the payment dates moved to the same date for everything.

Hey, that is NOT a problem! If you originally got in trouble for not staying on top of stuff, then checking accounts daily is very reasonable. I call it a good day when I only check twice

2 days (and hit with late fees) - the payment date for that account has been everything from the 4th to the 11th... it is now at zero and will be used and PIF. I requested a CLI and they did a hard pull and no CLI - so not real happy and will never pay interst to them (not even a pittance amount to make it profitable for them to have me as a customer)
