FNBO Balance Transfer & card at BT Limit

I was speaking with FirstBankCard about my former Rakuten MasterCard with them.

They offered me a 6.99% BT Offer with no Fee.

I used the offer and have gotten rid of 3 cards but reached the limit.

Originally I was told that I have until Dec 2nd to use the offer if I pay off some of the BT Limit.

Now a CSR claims I have an offer that is good until Feb but is saying it won't apply to my account at all because atm I am full with my BT Limit.

I've had CSRs give me bad info so I wanted to confirm with folks here, is that definitely correct? I'd figure I'd pay off some of the BT balance and be given the offer again and not just totally refused the offer.

If you are at the limit for a BT then any offer you get is moot, if you receive checks in the mail or an offer by email to transfer then you must be below the BT limit to take advantage of them.

Sorry what I meant was, the CSR made it sound like, even if I pay off the entire BT Balance tomorrow, that the system won't even continue to give me the extended offer.

Situation Identical.

Former Rakuten MC, converted to FNBO Rewards. Received the 6.99% BT Checks and used 5k of my $5250 limit.

Made 1K payments, got it down to 2K and received more checks... I repeated the process again, back to 5K. Balance is down to 2K, and I just received more checks good thru Mar 2020.

Sounds like she was saying, you cant use them because you are at your limit, not that the offer has been retracted.

Q: Do you have a BT limit that is lower then you CL? Mine is the same, BT up to available CL

I swept all my remaining balances to 0% except --> I purposefully put the 5K on FNBO knowing I was going to retire the debt early.

6.99% for life of the balance isn't bad, but I was more interested in using the offer and demonstrating I could handle consistent larger payments.

FNBO is conservative, but once they show some luv to you I haven't read any accounts of them AA or CLD anyone, but the economic conditions are changing, food costs are going to eat into discretionary spending... you can already see it happening in Restaurant closings and a liitle less busy then they used to be, at least that's what I have been seeing and reading.

My guess is we will see more not less CLD or AA on accounts with perpetual or increasing usage, especially on those who are not making significant payments.

Thanks again for the info, that's what I figured she must have meant. It would be strange to completely retract the offer.

I know a family member who signed up for the Rakuten MC but never used it until now, never got a single BT offer yet. They spent a little & paid but still nothing yet.

My BT Limit seems to be right at or extremely close to 90%. The CL is $5050 and the BT Limit seems to be right around $4545.

I was told it was a computer programmed BT Limit.

I know that to be factual because I had like $2100 in purchases that I finally got rid of to make the card BT only for now. Before I got rid of the purchases, it only let me do 85% BT Limit but now it seems to have jumped to the 90% mentioned above.

Does anybody know when it's likely you will trigger BT Offers on FNBO?

The person I mentioned above has finally started using their FNBO Card for some purchases (a statement hasn't cut yet) but so far their account has no offers at all.

We are hoping maybe once they get thier first statement, that they will finally see some offers.

Just to give a quick update, just in case anybody has the same issue and discovers this thread.

I had to speak to CS anyway and they clarrifed for me that the offer is still there the entire time but obviously not usable until I clear some of the debt off the BT Limit.

I guess I just had a miscommunication with the previous agent who had me thinking the offer will be removed from my account entirely if I am at my BT Limit.

FNBO must be doing some strange calculations for what your BT Limit is because it's not making complete sense.

I paid off some of my BT, did a small BT, then paid another $100.

I'd except it to say $100 more for transfer is available but it says $104.79 is.

The same thing happened to me before, I paid off $205 and with interest should only have had like $176 free up yet $195 freed up.

They seem to be randomly calculating or something.
