Cap1 didn't give me my signup Bonus

In the end this is my fault, but I got pre-approved for the Cap1 Venture1 and I had never signed up for a card with a signup bonus. I clicked the link that specifically said I would receive it, signed up, got the card, but never received any info on the bonus. I called and they submit the issue for a management review and they denied me. Really the only reason I signed up for the card anyway, but at least it's got no annual fee.

Word to the wise. If you're unsure just call first.

That's true but Capital One knows nobody is going to sue over a SUB and beyond that, what authenticates the screenshot? Time stamps can be faked after all. There would need to be some unique identifier on the screen to tie you to the offer.

There are always terms that give these companies the option to choose whether or not they're going to pay the SUB.

Plus if the application URL is also recorded (notepad, wordpad, etc.), this will be sufficient evidence of the SUB/promo. Often times the application URL has all the necessary coded information to trace any misapplied promotions or in the event that the screenshot is insufficient evidence. This was something that Capital One was able to honor (via EO) for a forum member for an escalated issue with the SUB since the system experienced a glitch during app submission.

Are you sure you didnt agree to the Venture 1 (for average credit) those come with no Sub and the highest apr

I've seen another post where someone was approved but without the sign up bonus even though that was the advertised offer when you apply, they might not deem you eligible for whatever reason. I'm thankful Capital One gave me a headstart on my rebuild but there's a lot of reasons I won't factor them in my long term credit plan. Bucketing, no human intervention, and triple pulls are among them..

There seems to be a fineprint at the bottom of the prequal screen that says existing (or even previous) accountholders may not be eligible for SUB. Here is my Cap1 prequal result.

Yeah it's said that for awhile. My SavorOne app in June had that verbiage there but they still gave it to me -- seems they are getting stricter about it now.

I am presuming OP met the spend requirement for the SUB?

If the OP had no other cards with SUB prior, why would CapOne disallow this first one?

The cards I have signed up for have the SUB info on the application pages, but then I always thought I was on my own to meet the SUB, not getting another clarification of the SUB terms.
