Orchard Bank CLI $100 a day - call again for another $100

I've had my Orchard Bank CC for 6 mos. and have a small $500 cl (awful - I know - rebuilding is the pits - but that being said, I'm glad there are cards that help you rebuild). Was denied at 3 mos. and they told me I'd have to wait til 6 mos. for any increase. Called at 6 mos. CSR gave me $100 instant increase and stated that they can only do $100 a day, and that I should call back the next day and would have no problem getting an additional $100. Called back several days later and asked for an additional CLI. This CSR told me I just had one and could not get another for 6 mos. I recounted the previous conversation and she said the 1st CSR must not know the program very well. I said I was really shooting for $1,000 cl because I push a lot of money through the card each month. She said, "Well, I can try if you want me to." I asked if it would be a hard ding on my credit report and she said she could stop the request before we hit that. I said okay, and she immediately said, "Well, I take back everything I said. You've got another $100 cli. I've never seen that before." She also admonished me to try calling again!!!! So - if you only get $100 cli from Orchard my info is that $100 is the daily limit. Call again another day.

6 months of rebuilding and we are s-l-o-w-l-y getting there. PIF every month by the way .

Congrats! It must have been your lucky day!

I reached my 6 month too and requested a CLI and got some luv yesterday. After reading this thread, I called today and got no luv and was told to try again in 6 months. I'll try again in few weeks instead.

I have a $600 secured since 8/2007 and no CLI. I never expected a CLI and did click the luv button in the past. They requested I call them. I figure the only time I'll ever call them is to cancel.

Yea I kinda figured that.

I have a hooters, cap 1, first premier, credit one cards now so I will prob cancel the orhard secured

and just leave it as 1 year history on it and get the money back

I used the backdoor number, 800-395-6090, listed on this site. I was told that the increase is $100 or $200 at the first six month mark on rebuilder cards. I was able to get $100 CLI twice, but was not able to get additional $100's on subsequent days. So I'll try again in 6 months. I'm glad to be up to $700 and hope that I'll be able to hit 900-$1000 at the 12 month mark. The CSR said they regularly review accounts for increases - so we'll see what happens as we move forward. By the way, all the CSR's I've spoken to since day one have been quite gracious and professional.

Mine is unsecured; a "rebuilder" card according the the CSR.

My EQ: 696-712, TU 730, EX FAKO 729

This is so typical for Orchard/HSBC! Don't hold your breath waiting for that CLI following the "review".

I have an Orchard Bank card with a $500 CL. On 6/23 I called and got an immediate $100 increase. After seeing this thread I called again on 7/7 and got another immediate $100 increase. Whoo!

I'm with you - I'm not anticipating the "review" to bring any additional CLI. I'm glad I could get them on request and not have to wait. Looking forward to applying for another cc (hopefully with a higher limit) since I've had this one six months - so wish me luck. And again, I'm glad these guys do offer rebuilder cards for those of us who need them. I'm thinking Macy's or Alliant for my next card. Just trying to get the nerve up.

There was no hard pull when I requested both times. I wasn't charged a fee either for the CLI. CSR said they do not charge a fee anymore.

Both of my increases did not involve a hard pull or a charge. They tell you when you ask for the CLI that they may or may not pull your credit report. MAKE SURE YOU TELL THEM YOU DO NOT WANT A HARD PULL. I guess what happens is that if you are not given an increase on the spot it goes to a manual review and then they do the hard pull. The CSR can stop it before it gets to the manual review and the hard pull.

That's consistent with the info given to me on my first (and subsequent) phone calls. They can stop it before it gets to a hard pull. And (so far) I'm not seeing any hits on my CR - so it appears to be so. So - pretty good news from everyone who's tried.

I tried again today and gave the same song & dance as the OP with goal and useage. Denied! LOL

On a side note: I probably could get a credit card from another bank but I'm in the middle of buying a house. I'll keep playing CLI game with Orchard until I close and look for another card.

I wonder why you were declined? How long have you had your card? What kind of balance to your keep on your card versus the CL? Have you ever had a late payment?

On a side note, the first time I called to get an increase the CSR I spoke to said he's never seen anything more than $300 at a time for a CLI.
