I'm definitely not interested in losing either one over a matter of a few dollars.

I got CSR around April or May 2018. With some Amex changes and the likely addition of a BofA Premium Rewards, I may PC CSR to a no-AF Sapphire card in the hope of later PCing it to another 5x Freedom card.

Does Chase still prorate AFs for PCs, such that I could expect roughly a 1/3 AF refund if I PCed around January 2020?

I guess I could keep it until around June 2020...get the $300 travel credit and then get a refund of most of the AF. I might actually come out a bit ahead that way vs. PCing in January 2020. But I wonder if that would be even more likely to trigger AA from Chase.

Thoughts?

They'll prorate it according to datapoints I read on Flyertalk and this article as well.

I have read a lot of data points about them prorating. Some people do use the travel credit before PCing but it depends on your risk tolerance.

The prorated AF will basically put you at even when the travel credit is taken into account which is not too shabby
