I want to gift a friend a $50 iTunes gift card. Will this purchase earn me 5% cashback with the Amazon store card? Thanks.

Yes it should work, though I haven't tried it, when I take it to check out it offers the 5% back on my card. I'd say go for it. I think you should be find.

Is that how you know the purchases earn 5% on the amazon store card? I saw that there was 5% on the payment selection page, but when i go the manage my amazon synchrony card, it says: "You do not have rewards points at the moment. Upgrade to the Amazon Prime Store Card to earn 5%."

It might rack up each statement and may need to wait each month, though this is speculation. It really looks like it was going to give me 5% on GC purchases. However, I haven't actually tried start to finish.

You have to be an Amazon prime member to get the 5%. Otherwise the only rewards the card has is just 0% financing on large purchases
