I have 2 cards through Bank Of America. A gold student card that I've had since 2003 (my oldest card) and a recently opened World Points Visa Signature. I called in to see if I could get a product change on my student visa because I graduated and was told that they can't do it and that I would have to close and apply for a new card. Has anyone here had success getting a product change?

I don't see what the big deal is, I mean I already have another regular card from them. I just wanted to see if I could get a better card (the student one has horrible apr and no rewards) while maintaining my old history. I won't close the student card regardless, but it would be nice to have something else.
