So , this is the very first time since I started my credit/credit card journey in 2013 , that I pay a payment late , not because I didn’t want to BUT because I simply forgot , & got charged 25 dollar fee , it was on my very first credit card the Wells Fargo college credit card , I just realized right now I forgot to pay last month & just now I paid last month and this months payments , question is ... will this affect my credit score? Now , I’m really bothered because I wanted to keep my payment history as 100%

Just call and talk to someone and explain what happened. If you've been a customer for a long time and haven't been late before they will often refund the late fee and not report it as late.

Late payment doesn't reported to the credit bureau unless it is over 30 days late. Give Wells Fargo a call, hopefully, they will give your the late fee back.

I would call and see if they can reverse it since it is your first. I had a similar situation happen with my first credit card with PNC Bank. I was tired of sending in checks so I signed up for autopay with the submission of a payment and I sent it on or slightly before the due date. They ended up autobilling the next one PLUS a late fee (I'm assuming it had to arrive by then and not a postmark date). I called and they credited it back right away. I haven't had another since then, but with it only being your first and you have a history, I'd be willing to bet they'd credit it back.

As stated, it's not a reportable issue unless your payment was 30 days late or more. It can be a black eye internally with the bank - maybe some difficulty getting increases for a couple years - but won't go any farther unless you went more than 30 days delinquent.

As said, give them a call. I did want to share that I’ve had my husband put alerts in his phone to give him a ding-ding when a payment is due 2 days before and then the day of for each debt account (I’m obsessive, so no need for me haha, but he definitely needs a reminder). He was skeptical at first but it has done wonders for him, he’s so busy and this is a way to alleviate some stress.

I just checked my statements & I am 30+ late BUT, it’s weird to me because the due date was 12/01/19 but I remember seeing that so I paid it early on 11/21/19 , but for some reason it didn’t post as a payment for that 12/1/19? & now I remember that’s the reason I didn’t give no payment on December becayse I had paid it early on 11/21/19 & it did post ? I’m so confused
