Discover request my 4506-T tax documents

So I'm curious has Discovery ever request anybody elese's tax documents.
I was approved for a $6500 SL now I'm received this request.

I'm curious if they will still send the card. I forgot to ask that question when I called.

Where have you been? Lol...

I don't know if they'll actually send the card being it's a new approval - but they will close the account if you do not comply with the request or if you do comply but fail verification due to info provided not 'matching' your tax transcripts.

I think I should be good. They may want to just verify my address and income. I had a fraud alert on my report and a recent address change.

My income will match. (maybe a few thousand off from what I statement but that shouldn't hurt me I hope)

Will do... I've already signed the docusign document they sent me. I had initally deleted the email, which was from Equifax on behalf of discover. I think checked my VM and saw that I had a message to call them.

Once I hear back I'll let you all know what happens. The stated stated it would take 5-7 business days.

The card would still be sent out. There's a separate department that oversees compliance of receiving those documents. Once you comply, if you decide to go through with the requested information, then I'm sure your account will be fine.

Another one! Yikes. At least these DPs seem more related to confirming address/fraud maybe?

How long after your approval did you get the 4506T? You said you didn't get the card yet, but that usually comes pretty quick, so almost immediately after approval they sent the request?

That sure is a raw deal. You apply, you get the "congratulations, you've been approved, a $6,500 credit line, you should receive the card in 7-10 business days", and then get "we need the following information on your account", and that means if you don't provide it, they might cancel your card. One might have thought when you applied they would have said we need more information to process your application......

Just trying to piece something together:

So Discover only pulls EQ or Exp if it's from a pre-qual? According to that "which bank pulls which report" chart. OP, did you do the pre-qual and apply or did you cold app? Cause the chart shows Exp pull if it's a cold app.

eta: just wondering if they pull Exp, approve and maybe sp EQ but then get shortly after a notice from EQ to request 4506-T. Like maybe that's the delay between approval/requesting. IDK!

This is exactly what happened to me. Sucked.

I now make twice as much as I had done in the tax year prior. They closed my account as a result. BS - won't be attempting to bank with them in the future.

They also pull others than EQ/Exp or TU.. they pull 3rd party sources as well which is the reason probably alot of people are having this issue as something isnt matching up financially or on another front.. Many other sources exists that can show income differences than reported on apps and what is shown on tax returns among other things...Such things could be EWS, the work number, etc.

$6500K would require tax docs from almost any issuer! $6500 not so much
