Citizens-Bank offer

Got a offer in the mail today.
Anyone has experience with them what do they pull
Are they giving small credit lines or Generous?

I have my car loan with them. I tired for a credit card they pulled EQ (I live in va) denied for too many inquires and new accounts (both true) I think my score was around 740 at the time .

They generally pull EQ.

They do lean to the conservative side with SL, definitely not generous.

But their current in-branch offer is great! (5% on everything until Mar 31)

Since i have 14 inquires maybe I shouldn’t Go for it unless a offer is diff case

Would hope that they extended the intro period until May 31 now that we're in the second half of January.

Was that app in person? If not, OP might have better luck in person, plus the 5% intro.

Is that 14/24, or 14/12? How many in the last 6 months? Some Banks are INQ sensitive, hence standoffish to those with 1-2 or more monthly.

Especially if they're more recent.

Oh had like 30 +inquires. 13 were for my car loan might not hurt score wise but looks very long to creditors 😞

5 in the last year isn't too bad, but then again I don't know how Citizens bank feels about it. Generally speaking, if those 5 aren't within the last 6 months you should be okay.

They aren't inherently adverse to inquiries (I'm evidence of that, I was in double digits on EQ when approved) like for example BarclayUS but it does factor in the decision.

I put in an app in branch for 5% MC and also cli for my LOC.

WIll tell you guys how it goes.

Utilization is about 10%, but I have about 12 inqs on EQ going back to Nov 19.

SHould be interesting.

A Citizens pre-approved offer can generally be reliable in terms of approval. Now, that said, keep your expectations tempered on the SL depending on your overall profile and if there's been some significant changes (by their UW standards) from the time the offer was made and the time you decide to pull the trigger...if you decide to go through with it 😁

Can I please ask if you decided to go forward with this? I just completed a HELOC with them, and as part of the package I was "Prequalified" for the CC. I'm rebuilding so their noted "18 months at 0% interest" certtainly did appeal to me-- I was thinking that I can use the HELOC but still keep some unsecured debt unsecured.

-- it was sworn to me that it would be a soft pull... nevertheless, I had a HP, an hour later from the "mortgage" division. (I had already signed the Mortgage.)

-- There was LOTS of disclaimer language

-- I have a bunch of INQs in the past 24... most of which are in the past 18!

Prequal or not, I'm assuming I'm NOT getting this card, to be honest, or it'll be like a $500. CapOne-esque joke.

I've been banking with Citizens since I was 18 (24 now), and I took out my first credit card with them back in February of this year. I don't know who they pulled, or if they pulled, as I was pre-qualified when I went to the bank. I do not have an inquiry from them on Experian, but I have not checked my credit report on the other 2 reporting agencies. I was granted a $2500 credit limit on their cash back mastercard.
