CSP SUB: Is paypal a qualified spending?

Hi all,

I might be making a big purchase in the near future and am thinking about applying for CSP for the SUB. The problem is the seller would only accept PayPal. If I use CSP as the source of my fund on PayPal, would that spending qualify me to get the SUB? Are there any other cards I sould consider? This would be my main travel card, so I prefer Visa or MC with no FTF, and AF no more than $100. Thank you!

I'm going to guess yes, since PayPal was a category for the CF. But hopefully someone else will chime in to confirm.

If the CSP is your funding source and therefore the paypal charge is made to the CSP, I would think that spend would count as spend since in the end, the money is being spent on that card. This is just a guess though; maybe someone with more experience will chime in.

I think this is going to depend on if the seller has a business paypal account or a personal one.

Your best bet, of course, is to check with Chase. They will certainly be able to answer your question authoritatively.

That said, exclusions are generally things like fees, interest charges, cash advances and balance transfers.

It’s likely he has personal account only. But I’ll be paying Goods and Services instead of F&F. I don’t know if that makes a difference.

You maybe right. I bought something on the weekend thru PayPal but I used AMEX cc as the source. The transaction says PAYPAL *STORE NAME, and under the transaction detail is the store name and address.
