Discover IT Approved lower APR request

Hi All,

Just to share if this is going to help someone.
Called Discover and requested CLI and lower APR today as I am their member for 1 year as of couple days ago.
CLI not eligible yet, as the last one was 2 months ago.
APR lowered by 4.75% from 24.49% to 19.74% permanently.

I did the same with my Chase FU and declined both requests.
But this was really expected as it was just 4 months with Chase.

Chase doesn't allow you to ask for APR reductions and you can ask Disco for CLIs whenever, they're random about granting them but many of us have gotten them two months or even three months in a row.

Congrats on the nice reduction though.

Nice APR reduction on Discover.

As mentioned upthread and on your separate thread, Chase will not lower your APR by request, whether it's 4 months, 12 months or 4 years. If you qualify for such a reduction it'll be automatic.

Thanks for letting us know! I haven't done this in awhile but you inspired me to ask again. I got my APR lowered from 14.74% to 12.74% just by asking through chat.

Discover is GREAT for this kind of thing! Congrats, OP.

Miss Disco entertains APR reductions, both temp and perm.. also entertains 0% for 12mo on new purchases as well... At least what iv been told and go by, its every 6 months as long as your not in the intro period .... usually can get new 0% offers too but there needs to be a gap between requests (think its 3 months but dont quote me) ... and yes you can "stack" a BT and a 0% on new puchases.... great way to be able to use the card and still have a bt offer on it... (seeing folks get them in sequential months is a new occurance for APR reductions but something to watch) ..

Chase.. not so much... (looks dryly at his Chase Amazon Prime Visa)

I no longer get bt offers but Apr redux is heavy on the mind. My Chrome ends year 1 in Feb . Id like to try and get Miles to achieve trifecta but if not im definetly gonna ask for redux. I have a 0% offer on It that ends in March. Ill be requesting a permanent redux there too. Poor @joltdude and his subprime Visa apr. Chase gets a timeout😉
