Navy Fed Member Deals (Formerly member mall)

Do other banks have something similar to this? My knowledge of specific bank rewards offers is more limited than most on this forum. These deals seem to be so good and only comparable to Amazon Prime 5% back (since they pretty much have everything). Getting normal card rewards of 1-3% (or 1-3 points) PLUS member deal rewards of what is routinely 3, 4, or 5 additional percent just seems nuts considering the amount of websites and stores they support.

This sets you up for generally an absolute minimum of 3.5% cash back, but more routinely 4% cash back and often times 6.5%+ cash back on many popular stores.

I just bought some Nike's (running shoes) that were 18% discounted already, used an additional 20% off from Nike (due to sale) supported by member deals, free shipping from Nike (because I signed up with my email), 1.5% cash back from regular card rewards and 5% cash back bonus from member deals portal. This is more common than not for a ton of stores and shops.

Am I missing something? Is there something way better out there (other than amazon prime card) that is keeping people from bragging about this. If so I need to know!

Chase also has a shopping portal for earning Ultimate Rewards points. Off the top of my head I can't think of any other banks or CUs that have one. Not sure if Chase and NFCU require you to use one of their cards to pay in order to earn the rewards. The beauty of other portals is that you can pay with whatever card earns the most rewards.

For those of us with Membership Rewards-earning cards from American Express, Rakuten is pretty hard to beat since they began to allow you to earn MRs instead of cash last year. Prior to that, I used SkyMiles Shopping or Mileage Plan Shopping (Alaska Airlines) depending on who was offering the most back, and before that it was Rapid Rewards Shopping (Southwest). It's so easy to rack up lots and lots of points or miles by just getting into the habit of starting your online shopping at one of those places.

This is all great info. Funny I've seen a billion commercials for Rakuten but never went to the website. It is basically member deals on steriods.

The NFCU portal does require you to use their card to get the extra points / cash back. It looks like most of the deals on Rakuten are on Member Deals for NFCU but for some NFCU has a better deal and for many Rakuten has a better deal.

Not the same thing. You have to wait for that to go through processing. Waiting 3 months to get paid is absurd versus getting paid within a week from Member Deals.

The Member Deals portal is a Cartera shopping portal which a number of lenders offer including Chase and Wells Fargo but NFCU's is among the highest paying of them.

It actually doesn't require you to use their card. It says it does but people use other cards all the time. The only thing you have to make sure of is that you order through the portal and you only use coupons listed on that portal.

While not required, the reason the Rakuten "stack" is recommended is because of the 3% cash back. Any time you use the Rakuten card on Rakuten the cash back from the card is 3%. On anything no category restrictions. Plus of course the normal Rakuten cash back. With the stack I regularly get 8-10% cash back, sometimes more.

I was responding to "The NFCU portal does require you to use their card to get the extra points / cash back" although it's valid for NFCU too since the base rate is in addition to the Member Deals offer do a Flagship would get 2X and a cashRewards would get 1.5% plus the bonus points/cash.
