I'll double check at some point.

I just checked. From the same transfer page, I selected my bank and it automatically greyed out my checking and savings as transfer target options. It's one of NFCU's quirks. I usually use Zelle to move money to NFCU from 1stBank or I just write myself a check from 1stBank and use mobile deposit. You can ACH push from NFCU to another account though.

Right you are. I must have originated the transfer from Chase.

But I did discover a work around of sorts. It did allow me to deposit into my CLOC, which has a zero balance, so, presumably, the funds would then move into my checking account, just like any other over-payment.

Should I try it before spoilsport @AverageJoesCredit comes along and tells me it's a bad idea?

I'm sure that it would work but much like receiving an ACH push to your savings account, NFCU would likely reach out to you and tell you that they don't like that.

What? You can't ACH into your savings? Is Navy misinterpreting regulation D? Just to be clear you are saying if you initiate a push from another bank into your savings they will have a problem with that? What about checking?

For all of my credit cards, I have auto pay set so that if I don’t make a payment, it will pay the minimum payment on the due date. Is this possible with Navy Federal? I called customer service and the rep said you had to use a fixed amount and it would go through even if you make a payment before. Such a bummer if that’s the only way.

I find Navy to be a little quirky. Here's an example:

You can pay a Navy cc bill on a biweekly basis from an outside bank, but you CAN'T pay same bill in same manner from a NFCU account. (Huh??) Neither paying through the CC pay button nor the Checking transfer to CC option will allow it.

My advice, seriously, if you don't see what you want, call to complain. Multiple voices will, someday, urge them to catch up and be just a little more consistent. Then, while you're waiting for the aircraft carrier to turn around in the Gulf of Oman, do whatever you want from your own bank's bill pay buttons.

I was having a conversation about this a day or so ago. Lol
That is one of the rubs that keeps me from even remotely considering NFCU as a main account.
Also means I don't use the cards as frequently as I might.
I like to set it and forget it. Not worry about a bill popping up and not automatically being paid by the due date.
Unless paying directly from a Navy Federal account, there's no autopay guys.

Just use your Navy cards as a PIF card. Wait for charge to post and pay. Everyone wants the huge limits but dont want to use them for not having an autopay. I know for many autopay is very important but it shouldnt be a deal breaker. We still can make manual payments lol.
Haha, guys.

Sometimes I don’t think people read very thoroughly.

I pay all of my credit card bills in full every month, but what if I was in the hospital for two weeks and missed the payment (or any other reason)? That’s where it’s nice to have the account auto pay the minimum payment.

There have been mixed answers so far in this thread, which is a bit surprising.

I've not found a way to set-up minimun autopay on Navy which is annoying.

One other feature that might, in some cases, offset is that if you've paid 2x the minimum due in one month, then the next month's minimum is waived.

For instance in June Balance Due is $600; Minimum Due is $20; I pay $100; Come July my Balance Due (assuming on 0% promo and no current charges) will be $500; Minimum Due is 0;

This creates some of the wiggle room that autopay ensures, if a regular user of the card. Note: the previous example could've been: Spend $600 in June; PIF when statement hits; Spend $600 in July; Minimum Due on next statement is 0 (due to PIF from July).

Navy is not perfect, but then maybe Navy Luv would not be so abundant if they were?

@Gmood1 I'm with you 100%. One of the reason I don't use them that often as well. I don't want to have to remember to go in and make a payment. Nor do I want to go in and set a static payment when I'm not 100% of what my usage will be at a given time. I hardly ever use my NFCU cards. They've become another lender that I keep an every 4-6 month charge on just for activity. I run less than $5 bucks per year on the cards simply because of the lack of a decent auto-pay system.

Kerplunk, this is why; (and I don’t pay attention to how my minimum is Calculated Im just using a random bunch of numbers. I’m aware.)

Your bill is $3000 this month minimum is $30. You pay $1000. Next month you have no payment due. It’s super quirky but i noticed this and confirmed it with a CSR. If you pay more than minimum this month you don’t have a bill due next month. I did take advantage of the 0% apr a bit.

It may be different when you PIF but that’s why you can’t auto pay minimum, because there may not be a minimum due.

I have also experienced this, Caught. I paid a minimum (just figured) the next month anyway and last time I made a big lump sum, it generated a minimum figure for me the next month, regardless. I don't know if it's a hit and miss thing or if I trained it.
