I've put about $6k through my DC card this month.....there's no cashback showing in the tracker? Am I doing something wrong? Or does it maybe not show up until after the statement cuts?

sorry if this is a dumb question.

Great thanks! I've already paid it all off. So I should get the 2% at statement time, perfect. I wish it tracked in real time haha.

I'm only fortunate enough to have this card because my brother has great credit, but now I'm starting to think I should find a better rewards card for him to get me 😂😂. However; it's good to know about depositing to bank instead of using as statement credit. Although it seems very strange, I would've thought the "penalty" would go the other way.

Is this a brand new card? If it is, one of the quirks is you won't be able to do a direct deposit into an account until you make 2 payments (or maybe even 2 consecutive payments from the same account) and then something crazy like waiting 15 or 45 days after the second payment.

I found out the hard way by closing 2 payment accounts and opening a new checking account. I couldn't redeem until 2 payments posted and whatever number of days.

I got a check mailed to me in the interim.

They delay everything.

Whatever you've earned, you don't get it until the next statement.

E.g., your rewards for the purchases won't show up until the next statement.

If you wait until the statement cuts and then pay the balance in full, you won't get the second half of your rewards

until the statement after that.

So it works out to more like 1.98%.

I could be mistaken. I have a 2.625% Visa and a 2.5%+ Amex. I don't use Plastiq and I don't really care for TYs. You can imagine how rarely I use my DC. I'd have closed it a while ago if I wasn't logging in to Citi anyway for my Costco card.

Something could have changed on the card without my knowledge.

You're not mistaken; you're absolutely correct. Redeeming for a statement credit costs you a little bit because you're losing the payment points.
