Discover IT cash back match

My Discover turns a year old next month and I’m set to get my cash back natch May 28.

It should be about $400.Not too bad seeing as the last 4 months have been all non categorical spend! Curious as to what others received their 1st year.

All in all happy with Ms Disco 😊

My 2nd it card turns 1 year in April, I will have to log on and see what I might have coming,

It was not My daily driver so I do not expect to get rich

edited: Looks like I will get $208.58 cash back match for 1st year at this point.

Being on the low end of the spectrum , ill probably get about $85-$95 from Disco for my Chrome. Better than nothing

I'm trending for about $200 give or take, so $400ish after match. I too absolutely love my card. The categories fit my spend nicely, their app/website is well layed out and easy to navigate, and their customer service is outstanding. The only thing that I think others do better is posting pending charges much faster. My Disco takes 1-2 days longer for charges to post than my other cards. Certainly not a deal breaker though, and I think it's a huge value for a no AF card! I'm a satisfied customer.

Dh had been using the card heavily but when he got his biz cards all the spend went to those for the last 4 months of 2019, but the total for dh was $526 which I think is awesome. Since he has a zero balance they put it in our checking acct. with lightening speed. (this week)

Mine was $278 (Oct) so I spent that much knowing the CB would cover it and bring the balance back to zero. Then I had an excuse....."the order was free Hun".

I still have about 4 months to go, and I'm around $250 so I will probably be looking at $350-375ish. I don't use it as a daily crd, just max out the categories and once in a while throw something else on there too. I love the Disco, and will likely open a second once I hit the year on this one to have another 10% year. Everyone loves the Chase card, but I think the Disco categories are much easier to max out. I find it insane that they let you open up a second one right away and do the signup bonus on that one too. My credit score should be a good 70-100 points better next time around so hopefully the next one will be a nice fat starting limit.

When I got mine in 2015, I clicked a different link when I applied and the offer was for a 0% balance transfer with no fee (useless), INSTEAD of the cash back match, but I didn't notice it until the card came, so I got a big $0 match.

I suppose I can apply for another Discover card, but I'm not sure what 2 identical cards would do for me unless I can combine the CLs later.

The Chrome is much tougher to get the higher amounts of CB match, though. With the IT, you are able to get a 5% CB Match in categories, but with Chrome you are limited to a max CB Match of 2%.

My two DD's just finished their CB Match last month on their Chrome Student. The oldest (more frugal) only received $49 CB Match. The 19yo rang up twice that at $97 CB Match. Of course, when they visited from college I would have them use their cards for the meals we ate out together (I pay the bills, so why not? LOL). My youngest visits more since she is far closer to home... and brings her laundry home for us to do.

My IT CB Match ends in a few weeks. Right now it says $371 match, but statement hasn't generated yet for this month. I'm guessing we'll be around $450 CB Match when it is done next month.

We have a lot of home improvement projects going on, so we've been using the CB towards Lowes gift cards which are a 10-15% discount (can't remember exactly which). Guess I'll buy a GOLD PLATED TOILET with the match next month!

nice to see some good cashback 1 year match.

mine won't be until this december but i'm fully taking advantage of the 5% rotating categories.

only have $40 of cashback so far from my first couple statements

I think I've reached a little over $100...which isn't too bad considering I'm just a full-time college student.

You might emphasize "plated" to guests.

I don't need anybody breaking into my house to steal my toilet, so the news article you linked has changed my mind. Instead, I'll go for a smart toilet seat that includes a remote. And still have enough CB Match to buy a mini fridge and stock it full with beverages for those long sessions!

My cashback match for the first year on mine was $691.82 for a total of $1383.64.
