BS card...... Why do I have it?? Started with 500...auto increase after 5 months to 750...

Tried to bump it up ...a no go... Thinking about closing it! 39 dollar annual fee? Why must I keep it?

IIRC, Link is never expired. You just may not be eligible on line. Good luck on calling in. Perhaps, you may get success.

QS1 are the hardest to product upgrade. If you choose to keep the card, keep checking periodically for upgrade.

I called in right after I was charged the annual fee and they waived it for me. I'll try again this year. Just keep checking the upgrade link.

I'm in the exact same boat as you, EXCEPT I started with Plat & PC'd to QS so No Fee. No dice on my bump request(s) either, if it makes you feel any better.

How long have you had it? I got mine in May, and I got both the $750-bump AND the PC in Late November. I also refi'd my truck with COAF in October. I have plenty of spend on it for such a small card, and although I don't PIF, the balance is never more than $100. I also pay extra on the auto loan by about $60 a month. I'd think that between the 2 products, I'd have 'history.'

Going to try again for the CLI in May or whenever this viral/financial junk stops... whichever comes... reasonably.

When you call in, see if they'll waive your annual fee.

I had the same card and felt the same way for a good while! The 39 fee forces you to spend just to break even. Best suggestion is to spend heavy on it and pay it off quickly and 6mo after the 5step CLI ask for a product change. They will probably offer the Venture One Card. You can take the travel miles card at 1.25 miles per dollar. Bleh but it saves you from having to pay annual fee, they let you keep your cash and or you can redeem it. Also the travel miles can be redeemed for cash. After another 6months or so ask for a PC to QS. I still have the Venture One card but I also opened the Cap1 Journey Card (far from being a student) and they PC me QS after 6mo I believe. Good luck OP!
