Experience with Citi Pre-Selected Offers

so i've been getting bombarded with citi pre-selected offers for their double cash card...which i do not want. i do, however, want the citi diamond preferred for the 21 month bt promo apr. does anyone have any experience applying for that card/can anyone advise if they've noticed the underwriting is more stringent for the diamond preferred than the double cash? i understand that these things aren't linear and are dependent on each person's credit profile

Did you try citi prequel online?

No experience but I’m bombarded too for double cash back and diamond. Sometimes 2 a day

I am pretty sure the UW is the same for DC and DP.

From The DP's I have gathered over time, most do not see prequal's on their website,

and unless the mailer has a solid APR, probably just marketing.

I have always cold apped for Citi's cards.

I forget Citi's rules on too many apps. I am pretty sure @Anonymous could give that info.

Citi is generally pretty friendly. No BK less than 7 years old, 700+ scores, and no more than 6 inquiries in the last 6 months and you're pretty solid for an approval.

If the scores in the signature are accurate, I am not as optimistic. Citi may approve but with a very low limit.

You rarely will. This is why i lol at people wanting Citi prequals so bad. Left hand never knows what right hand is doing. If you want the DP just apply for it. If you can get get a DC you can get a DP. Just remember Citi can and oftentimes double pull and their sl can vary tremendously for everyone

The only data point I can add to this discussion is...

I filed bankruptcy 25 years ago. They were one of the creditors I burned. I, too, get tons of offers in the mail from them. I jumped on one about 6 months ago online. VERY QUICK DENIAL!!!

Sucks, but I will survive!!

What do you think the odds are for this: Recently declined (~60-days ago). Since then BK came off (EX, where they pulled mine), less than 6 INQs in the last 6 months (4) and all FICOs in 700+. Called the recon again the other night thinking it would be a SP if I used my app#, woman said it would be a HP, but since its within 90-days they would pull from same CB (after 90 they start all over again and it could be anyone). I got cold feet and said no because even though BK doesn't show on my EX report any more and my EX FICO went up, EX never notified me of that and just yesterday they emailed me that they are still investigating (to which I didn't want to waste a HP and get denied again).

Your thoughts?
