I had read on here that 680 was magic number for asking for whatever you want but thought the 640 would be nice to know for some of our rebuilders on here if you are in there GEO!

Im thinking you might have misunderstood this portion of the conversation. Im guessing UW meant to say 640 + no credit seeking + ontime for a year

Not so sure about that, i mean to say that i think it is known around here that synovus is not new account sensitive... my main reason for posting is i had read here that a 680 was good for an approval. The DP's sake was to say that they will approve a lower score and the number i was told was 640. Im not saying that they or any lender will approve someone who is 20/12 im just saying its known that they are no chase bank with new accounts.

I don't have experience with Synovus, but to me it sounds a little "off" to say that a certain score would be approved regardless of other factors. There's no such thing as a sure thing when it comes to credit/lending.

If that really is the case, though, Synovus would be quite a deal for someone desperately needing/wanting a new card lol

Synovous is a very good CC lender dependinig on profile i am not sure what their criteria is on lower end but when i applied with a 780ish EQ score i got I believe their best APR and a 18k CL.. assume if they approve a 640 you can be assured the worse apr and a way smaller CL regardless of income. They are a very good lender though IMO been a pleasure to deal with and like their CC's alot.. Was thinking about also pickinig up their no thriills CC that has a low APR and 0% for 18 months as about to buy alot of new furniture for my house.. Have the cash rewards card currently

FWIW, I believe an existing relationship loosens their UW standards up a bit. Also, I believe they get very generous with those they would like to have a relationship with, as in high FICO high income folks. Just anecdotal.
