That's what I'm saying. I didn't see any boosts or point doubling, unless it was only specific cards? I would have expected it to be all over the forums at that point.

I think the article was referring to this:

The few "deals" that I looked at still weren't a bargain, even at 30% off the points required. (By that I mean not even at a 1 MR to 1¢ value, which most on here wouldn't consider anyway.)

When AMEX starts at a redemption value of $0.007 for gift cards, a 30% bonus doesn't get up to 1c value. I already have a specific GrubHub 10% offer I put on my Green card.

Just read this article in my news feed this morning and was about to hop over and ask about it myself. I feel like it was kind of poorly executed and I need to reread it three to four times to even sort of understand it.

I was hoping the Grubhub offer would be a universal thing since I order from there about five times a week. I doubt I'll ever get a targeted offer from them again since I absolutely wore out the one I had last year.

Too bad it doesn't look like there's a whole lot of extra bonus value to be had here. I'm having a tough time using my Amex right now and was looking for an excuse to do so. No need to add to an already sizeable bank of MR when I can't even imagine the vacation I'd use them on right now. Plus, the straight cash back just feels better right now. Sticking with the Propel unless that changes.

Edit- Also checked my account just now and saw MR would redeem for statement credit at .75 rather than the usual .60, which is still a bad value.

I'm meh about that part. What caught my attention was doubling the rewards earned. While I'm sure it will never happen, 8x MRs for grocery and dining would be awesome.

The only tweak I've noticed is that their mighty algorithm thinks I can use physical card in WA state, than 45 min later order a pizza in Japan.

I suppose that's "helping", because I could have used wormhole to get to Japan and back in under an hour, and I bet that would make anyone hungry.

From the CNBC article talking about it:

"In addition, Membership Rewards cardholders will soon be able to earn 2X Membership Rewards points on Grubhub and Seamless purchases through the end of the year. An Amex spokesperson confirmed there is no specific start date yet, though they are targeting later this April."

Looks like this will be a universal deal at some point once it's implemented, even though I wouldn't assume 2x Membership Points will end up netting 6/8 points per dollar on the Green/Gold(it would certainly be welcome if it did).

Woke up this morning to an extra 1 MR on Grubhub/Seamless offer on my Gold through the end of the year. Will go back to using it about half the time on Grubhub now.

She's just trying to get out of paying for the pizza she ordered when she got the bill for the somewhat excessive delivery fee from Japan to WA. "Oh, that wasn't me."

I woke up and saw posts over all the blogs I follow that there's an Amazon 5x Amex offer for up to 2,000 points. It's not in my AMEX offers bucket yet, but if it makes it there, this is enough to make me switch off my Amazon Store Card (5% CB) to the Green for a while...
