Nice to see more 2% cashback cards coming into the fold and with cellphone protection that's rare. Thanks for sharing.

This is the lower end though, $250 with $50 deductible. Certainly better than nothing.... Basically you just have decide how much is the insurance worth relative to your bill and alternatives. I currently have to choose between a 3% with $250 coverage, 1.8% card with $500 coverage, a 1% with $800 coverage, or 5% cards with none. Once the phones get older, probably switch to 5%. Or, with lockdown, just go landline all the way!

I dont have this card.

I do have cell phone protection, but it's through carrier. While getting it for free would be great, I'm not applying for a card only for cell phone protection.

Rewards change all the time, and with my luck, I'd drop the phone on the exact day benefit is discontinued.

With that said, compared to reasons for a few of my apps ( "insomnia made me apply at 3 am", "everyone was doing it", and my personal favorite "didnt sleep couple of nights, thought I was filling out prequal"), cell phone protection is not a bad reason to get a card considering the cost if you're paying for it .

But the NFCU @1.5% is the best cashback I've found that carries at least $600 per claim.
